Blood Sweat and Gears

Location: Valle Crucis Elementary School
Valle Crucis, NC

Blood Sweat and Gears, aka BSG, celebrates 22 years on June 27, 2020. From humble beginnings, BSG has grown into the North Carolina High Country’s premier cycling event. Starting and finishing in historic Valle Crucis, home of the Mast General Store, BSG offers incredibly scenic views, epic climbs and some of the best cycling that North Carolina has to offer.

BSG showcases the mountain communities of Watauga and Ashe counties. We offer a very challenging 95-mile route and a 45-mile route that is shorter on mileage but still big on challenge. Both routes include epic area climbs. The 95-mile route features the famous Snake Mountain climb. More route details including map links and gpx file downloads are HERE.

Tour of Napa Valley

Register Registration opens 3/1/2020

Location: Napa Valley Fairgrounds
Calistoga, CA

The 44th edition, 2020 Tour of Napa Valley is a Renaissance of sorts, with all of the rides starting and ending in our new venue at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga, at the North end of the valley. Calistoga is a small town renowned for its hot springs, mud baths, world-class restaurants and Napa Valley wines. As our riders go south on the scenic Silverado Trail and into the Vaca range to the east of the valley, they will visit as many as seven famous wine appellations and enjoy views not only of vineyards, but hillsides of oaks, bays, eucalyptus, as well as redwood forests.

This year we are again offering 5 distances – a flat 35 miles all within the Napa Valley, a “hilly” 50 miles with moderate climbs, a 62.5 mile metric century, an 80 miler that includes all of the climbing but less flat riding and our iconic Century.

Ride/Distance/Elevation Gain

  • Century Ride/99mi/5,660ft
  • Awesome 80/79mi/5,259ft
  • Metric Century/65mi/3,777ft
  • Hilly 50/52mi/2,552ft

B2VT 2019

B2VT Bike Ride

Location: 1 Patriot Park
Bedford, MA

In 2014 a new name (B2VT) and a new course was unveiled by the founders of the B2B. There was a new starting area (Historic Battlefield region of Lexington, Concord and Bedford, MA) and final destination (Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, VT) but subsequent editions of the B2VT have been some of the most challenging riding ever! Some new nasty climbs and epic New England roads with an uphill finish at Okemo just added to the legacy! See the 2018 course map here.

The B2VT Ride, though epic, is not for everyone. It is one of the most challenging bike rides in New England and if you sign up, you are expected to finish within the allotted time frame. We do not offer sag wagon service to the finish, you must finish on your own except under extreme circumstances (medical emergency).
