The DEAD OF WINTER Double is a 200 mile ride on popular established routes: Lowland and Highland Doubles of the Los Angeles Wheelmen’s GRAND TOUR. The Dead of Winter Double was held for the first time on November 30 and December 1, 2013, with a limited number of riders, just 75 each day. The Dead of Winter Double will be held December 1, 2018, and if there are enough volunteers, December 2, 2018. HINT – pay it forward and volunteer so we can make the ride available to more riders. The DEAD OF WINTER Double will follow the 2018 Grand Tour Lowland Route from Port Hueneme to Ojai with a section added to make the 200 mile total. It will then follow the Highland Route past Lake Casitas to the coast before a return back to Port Hueneme.

Difficulty Rating: Medium

It is intended to be a last chance, low-cost double (cost of $50). Support will consist of water and Hammer Nutrition products (only) at all rest stops, with roving SAG for the duration. A 75 rider limit is necessary to keep the costs down, so a strict reservation policy will be observed.
