Since 1978, the Tour of the Unknown Coast has been touted as one of California’s toughest century rides, and among the most beautiful rides anywhere.

As we bring this event back after a two year pandemic-induced hiatus, we’ve made a few changes that we hope you’ll appreciate.

We’ve moved the event to September to avoid conflicts with other events, and we’re partnering with the Eel River Brewing Company in Fortuna which means a new start and finish location. Those of you traveling to Humboldt County for this ride will really like the proximity to hotels — just roll over to the start in the morning, and enjoy a hot shower in your room at the end of the day. All riders will enjoy a well earned burger and beer (or alternative meal/beverage choice) at the Eel River Brewing Company Pub after the ride.

The 2022 event will be a “skinny” version of our traditional event — we’re offering the classic Tour of the Unknown Coast Century ride, and an Avenue of the Giants 100K ride. Rest stops will be limited in number, and may not offer all of the goodies you are used to.
